Thank you for visiting Laura Scottorn Photography and considering me for your photographic needs.

At Laura Scottorn Photography we have worked with hundreds of families over the last few years since I (Laura) began freelancing, both in the studio, on location or at a playgroup.

We are very blessed to work with such lovely people and love hearing about how the pictures are used and it is an even greater pleasure to have families come back time and time again.

We have a diverse range of business clients, including local business people, artists, local schools who have used us for marketing pictures and one of our favourite regular clients; Naomi House Children's Hospice, for whom we have photographed a variety of events most notably their yearly corporate awards at the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium, which is always a great pleasure.

I have an awesome team to work with and at our mini shoots you will most likely meet Alison Sanson, my amazing assistant and calm organiser, without fail the little-ones immediately warm to her and it is such a pleasure to work with her.

We have the great privilege of being part of many family’s special occasions and part of many businesses and charities events and being part of them grow.  Each day presents a new and exciting photographic challenge; it can start with a baby shoot and end with a charity event or photographing a beautifully handmade creation.

More info about Laura's photography career:

Before freelancing, I had been employed in the photography industry for various different and diverse companies, including: Home Shopping Europe (shopping TV) - product photographer; Princess Cruise’s - ship photographer; onEdition photography - post-production manager; Kodak - marketing assistant in the digital imagery department.

I graduated in 2000 from Falmouth College of Arts (now University College Falmouth) with a BA Hons in photography, during which time I spent a term in The Netherlands at the Royal Academy in the Hague.

At onEdition I was involved in producing and arranging post-production for shoots - Photoshop-ing, optimising and enhancing high quantities, organising shoots, managing image libraries and backing-up all work.  The company worked with various high profile events (such as: the London Marathon, The Global Challenge round the world sailing and The Style Awards), PR and press items, as well as various celebrity clients.  My job would entail liaising with clients, models and locations, as well as national and international newspaper picture desks. My Photoshop work was published in every daily national paper, international newspapers and many other publications both paper and online.

In 2006, I graduated from Cardiff University with a PGCE (M) post compulsory with distinction, during which time I taught at Coleg Glan Hafren Cardiff.  I went on to teach photography at St Vincent College, Hampshire, where I was employed until Easter 2013.
